History and Inspiration
The name of our company Wurtland Oil Works LLC is inspired by the unique history of this place. The post office was opened on January 14, 1864, and it was named Oil Works in honor of one of the first kerosene plants in the United States that operated here. On February 28, 1876, the post office was renamed Wurtland.
By preserving the heritage and spirit of this land, we decided to name our company after the generations who lived and worked here. More than 160 years after the beginning of petroleum production in Wurtland, we proudly operate one of the most technologically advanced plant for the production of modern lubricants in the United States.

The idea of combining historical traditions with the latest technology also inspired the shortened name of our company — WOW Lubricants, which reflects the modern spirit of production. Our portfolio includes:
